Children and Adolescents
We believe that children and adolescents are our future. We have an active church ministry for youth of all ages. We provide a supportive and nurturing environment based on God’s word to help our young people handle the demands and expectations of life. You and your family do not need to be members of First Congregational Church to participate in any of these fun and exciting activities. Visit us and learn more.

The safety of our church family is one of our priorities. All persons over 18 years of age who work with the children and adolescents receive Safe Church training and has a criminal background check (CORI) done.

Nursery
Located on the second floor, our Nursery is a fresh, clean space with age-appropriate toys and furnishings where our babies and toddlers can rest, play, and enjoy story time and music. We invite parents to use this space with their toddlers or babies during the church service, as needed.

Church School Classes
Children who are pre-K through 6th grade are invited to participate in our church school ministry. Our church school ministry starts with our Worship Service. After the Children’s Time, the children go to the chapel on the second floor where they learn our faith traditions and Bible stories. These introduce the children to principles of everyday living, prayers, and hymns that are often sung during our worship services. Sunday School is held from the beginning of September through the end of May.

Our church school promotes wholesome and exciting activities throughout the year for youth in Middle School and High School. They meet together twice a month during church service to discuss the lesson for that day and any concerns that they may have. They also meet regularly for activities such as hiking, kayaking, and movies. Once a year they go on a retreat where they explore the Bible and participate in faith building and social activities.

We offer a confirmation class for those who are in the 8th Grade and higher. These classes held at the convenience and agreement of the minister and participating students and parents.

Our youth are encouraged to grow in their faith, enjoy fellowship with other youth, and share their talents in mission and in service.
